MATERIAL TO WORK WITH

How does it work our education? Is there any variation as regards material and techniques? If I take my country’s education into account, I have to say that is not any variety, as regards material and tecniques. It is difficult to see a variation of materials and techniques in the class. In my opinion, is very important to expose different materials to explore and manipulate as children want. In this way they could have more knowledge and wide material to choose. Moreover, if we expose them as much material as possible, they would be able to introduce on their own productions.

Linked to the idea above, those materials that the teacher exposes to children could be useful to carry out lessons. We are use to see paper and pen to take notes of what is the teacher saying, but we have even think about creating what we are thinking?

Clay is a useful material for that and it was wonderful to experiment with this material to reproduce what the teacher was saying adding your personal production. In a future I will be a pre-school teacher, because of this reason, I think that having different ideas as regards materials and techniques will be wonderful to introduce in the future.

I will add more materials like, aluminium, wool, cotton… for their own creations and to reflect their emotions, for example.

This article is interesting to reflect on variation of materials and techniques: http://www.sfschool.org/programs/preschool/sensorial.shtml

About my first impression of Art Class, I have to say that it was interesting and helpful for my future, as regards teacher profile. Out of old-fashion thoughts, we have to start think about different ways of teaching instead of inplementing the typical methodology: perfection, good looking drawings and creating artists.

I have to say that in the first semester in our country I had "Transdisciplinary Artistic Education" and I had seen some point of view about art and how to implement music, movement and art in class. I think that kids have to experiment with all their world in general, and the teacher has to help to grow up on their own way.

I think that this classes will be interesting to take new points of view as regards our multiculturalism. Taking into account that all countries has different ways to educate, I'm convince that all contributions will enrich knowledge, as well as defining what is happiness for me.
